Considerations about the integration and interdisciplinary coordination in the study plan of Bachelor of Sciences in Nursing Consideraciones sobre la integración y coordinación interdisciplinaria en el plan de estudio de la Licenciatura en Enfermería Pernas Gómez, Marta Miralles Aguilera, Eva Integration study plan interdisciplinary curriculum bachelor of sciences in nursing. A preliminary evaluation of the study plan design of Bachelor of Sciences in Nursing applied in the 2003-04 and 2004-05 courses has shown an insufficient flexibilization of the flexnerian model and a structure of the study plan susceptible to be improved in reference to interdisciplinary coordination. To elaborate a curricular proposal with a higher level of adjustment to the formative model and to the characteristics stated for the D study plans, a group of experts formed by the head professors of the specialty of Nursing was constituted at the Higher Medical School in Havana and the group was increased with head professors from other faculties along the country. A working methodology was used; it was characterized by an initial period of disciplinary work followed by another interdisciplinary coordination and of the programs punctualization to complete the coherence between disciplinary and interdisciplinary facts in the study plan. In all the periods the demands of the formation model were taken into account which was structured in three periods. The subject and discipline programs were formed as well as a group of curricular strategies. The application of this curricular model during two courses requires an evaluation to improve it and design it definitely. Una evaluación preliminar del diseño  de la licenciatura en Enfermería aplicado en los cursos 2003-04 y 2004-05 puso de manifiesto una insuficiente flexibilización del modelo flexneriano y una estructura susceptible de mejorarse en la coordinación interdisciplinaria. Para elaborar una propuesta curricular de mayor  ajuste al modelo formativo y a las características de los planes D, se constituyó un grupo de expertos con los profesores principales de la carrera Enfermería del Instituto Superior de Ciencias Médicas de La Habana, ampliado con sus respectivos colectivos de profesores principales de facultades y se aplicó una metodología de trabajo con una etapa inicial de trabajo disciplinario, y otra de coordinación interdisciplinaria y completar la coherencia entre lo disciplinar y lo interdisciplinar en el plan de estudio. Se diseñaron los programas de disciplinas y asignaturas, y algunas estrategias curriculares. Su aplicación requiere de una evaluación para su perfeccionamiento y diseño definitivo. Characterization of the organizational climate of the "Cecilio Ruiz de Zárate" University Polyclinic from Cienfuegos Caracterización del clima organizacional del Policlínico Universitario "Cecilio Ruiz de Zárate" de Cienfuegos Piña Loyola, Carmen Niurka Organizational climate leadership motivation reciprocity participation Clima organizacional liderazgo motivación reciprocidad participación The organizational climate has become a necessary instrument to determine the efficiency of the working environment reflecting the interaction between organizational and personal characteristics which constitute a highly dynamic interdependent system which has an influence on the efficiency of workers and students. Objective: to characterize the organizational climate of the "Cecilio Ruiz de Zárate" University Polyclinic from Cienfuegos in the period from January to July 2006. Methods: A descriptive research work was carried out. Four basic dimensions were studied: motivation, leadership, reciprocity and participation. The universe was the totality of workers and students of the polyclinic. The sample was 85 workers and 11 students selected randomly. Results: The dimension of motivation in workers was not satisfactory because two of the categories got less than 3, responsibility and adequation to working conditions being the most affected. The dimensions of reciprocity and participation behaved acceptably with a category below the inferior limit, work application and productivity compromise, respectively. In the students all the dimensions behaved acceptably. Conclusions: The organizational climate was characterized as acceptable. The results agree with other studies carried out on the topic in Cuba. Fundamento: El clima organizacional se ha convertido en un instrumento necesario para determinar la eficiencia del  ambiente laboral de una institución, reflejando la interacción entre las características personales y organizacionales, las cuales constituyen  un sistema interdependiente altamente dinámico que influyen en el rendimiento de los trabajadores y estudiantes. Objetivo: Caracterizar el clima organizacional del Policlínico Universitario "Cecilio Ruiz de Zárate" de la Provincia de Cienfuegos en el período comprendido de enero a julio del 2006. Métodos: Se realizó una investigación descriptiva de corte transversal. Se estudiaron cuatro dimensiones básicas: motivación, liderazgo, reciprocidad y participación. El  universo estuvo constituido por la totalidad de trabajadores y estudiantes del centro. La muestra quedó constituida por 85 trabajadores y 11 estudiantes seleccionados por muestra aleatoria simple. Resultados: La dimensión Motivación en trabajadores, se comportó de forma no aceptable pues dos de sus categorías obtuvieron calificación inferior a tres; responsabilidad y adecuación de las condiciones de trabajo, siendo la dimensión más afectada. Las dimensiones Reciprocidad y Participación se comportaron de forma aceptable, con una categoría por debajo del límite inferior; la aplicación al trabajo y compromiso con la productividad, respectivamente. En los estudiantes, todas las dimensiones se comportaron de forma aceptable. Conclusiones: Se logró caracterizar el clima organizacional del Policlínico el cual se puede considerar de aceptable. Los resultados concuerdan en gran medida con otros estudios realizados sobre el tema en Cuba. Ethics in the teaching of human anatomy: from corpse to virtual reality Ética en la enseñanza de la anatomía humana: del cadáver a la realidad virtual Wong Orfila, Teresita Gutiérrez Maydata, Alfredo Medical ethics bioethics anatomy teaching Ética médica bioética enseñanza de la anatomía Although the human anatomy teaching has gradually changed, the use of corpses or some of its parts is necessary for teaching, surrounded of respect according to activities of highly scientific-technical value for the educative influences that the teaching institutions of the national health system can exert. Also, the learning in the living organism, either directly or indirectly, demands a responsible attitude from teachers and students, either legally or ethically, because of its most immediate relation to the professional practice. The technologies of information and communication are an excellent didactic resource for the study of human anatomy, but it should have a place as a complementary alternative for the use of anatomical pieces, models and other resources as the learning with the living subject, because the excessive and exclusive use in the medical education can carry a negative ethical implication as the co adjuvant factor of becoming medically inhuman, at the edge of technical problems that the learning of this practice can carry out. Aunque la enseñanza de la anatomía humana ha evolucionado, debe asegurarse que  su aprendizaje utilizando cadáveres o sus partes sean actos rodeados del respeto y garantía propios de actividades del más alto valor científico-técnico, dadas las influencias educativas que en tal sentido se pueden ejercer en las instituciones docentes del sistema nacional de salud. También el aprendizaje en el organismo vivo, ya sea de forma directa o indirecta, demanda una actitud responsable del profesor y de los estudiantes, tanto en lo jurídico como en lo ético, por su relación más inmediata a la práctica profesional. Las tecnologías de la información y las comunicaciones son un excelente medio didáctico para el estudio de la anatomía humana, pero deben ocupar un lugar como alternativa complementaria al uso de piezas anatómicas, modelos y otros recursos como el aprendizaje en el sujeto vivo, pues su  exclusiva o excesiva utilización en la educación médica puede traer una implicación ética negativa, puesto que puede  convertirse en un factor que favorezca la deshumanización de la medicina, al margen de los problemas técnicos que en el aprendizaje de los estudiantes esta práctica pueda traer. Certainly what, is not to accept the novel thing, for the only made of being in consonance with the modernity, it is mainly to incorporate the new thing to stimulate the creative and innovative spirit, the reflexive thought, the necessity of the permanent study and the motivation for the scientific investigation as source of the non alone development of the society, but of the own intellect human¨. It is in short of living to the rhythm of the life, for the life and for the life in benefit of the society, based in the feasibility and economic sustainability. In this respect many academic and social institutions in general, they have expressed their concern and occupation, for the challenges and challenges that should face, and they have elaborated formless that pick up orientations and limits to keep in mind in the making of intervention-action programs that not alone they mitigate the existent difficulties, and give answer to the challenges that next express, but rather it allows the improvement and development of the medical education. On the other hand the new work forms and the necessity for many people to traffic several times inside a certain occupation and to adapt to unexpected situations, they demand capacities that surpass the competitions provided by the traditional didactic strategy of the school disciplines and/or university students.  The formation based on competition and in the cultural, much more integral historical focus, dynamics and flexible to those traditionally used in the field of the medical education, it is an option that looks for to generate formative processes of more quality, but without losing of view the necessities of the society, of the profession, of the development of the discipline and of the academic work and what it is constituted in a feasible alternative of applying to the contemporary medical formation.  La realidad actual exige de la Universidad una respuesta pertinente ante los retos de la contemporaneidad que demandan cambios creativos e innovadores que promuevan la reflexión y la investigación científica como fuente del desarrollo para la sociedad y el intelecto humano. Muchas instituciones académicas y sociales han elaborado informes que estimulan la confección de programas de intervención-acción para atenuar las dificultades y favorecer el desarrollo perspectivo de la educación médica. La necesidad de adaptarse a situaciones inesperadas, exigen capacidades que rebasan las competencias proporcionadas por la estrategia didáctica tradicional de las disciplinas escolares y/o universitarias. The current regulation for the methodological educational work of the ministry of Higher Education guides the making of a work with a system approach, with the intention of elaborating proposals to favour the methodological work in the career of medicine of the University in Medical Sciences of Villa Clara. It was carried out by means of a specialized bibliographical revision of the topic, and of an analysis of contents of the documents of the curriculum to identify their difficulties and potentialities. The presence of the career subsystems is verified to facilitate the undertaking of methodological work with a system approach, although the process of curricular implementation has been insufficient before these demands, since a particular attention should be paid to the organization of the career subsystems and its disciplines, as well as to the perfection of the work of the year, without neglecting the potentiality that offers the cycle to establish interdisciplinary staffs. El reglamento actual para el trabajo docente metodológico del ministerio de Educación Superior orienta la ejecución de una labor con enfoque de sistema, por ello, el estudio tiene como objetivo elaborar propuestas que favorezcan la labor metodológica con enfoque de sistema en la carrera de medicina de la Universidad en Ciencias Médicas de Villa Clara. Para ello se realizó una revisión bibliográfica especializada del tema, y un análisis de contenidos de los documentos del currículo para identificar sus dificultades y potencialidades. Se verifica la presencia de los subsistemas de carrera que posibilitan  emprender una labor metodológica con enfoque de sistema, si bien, el proceso de implementación curricular ha resultado insuficiente ante estas demandas, por ello, debe prestarse particular atención a la organización de los subsistemas de carrera y disciplina, así como perfeccionar la labor del año, sin descuidar la potencialidad que ofrece el ciclo para establecer colectivos interdisciplinarios. Estrategia enfoque interdisciplinario carrera de medicina educación superior. This research work was carried out in de medical university in Villa Clara province in the course 2007‚¬"2008. Its objective was to elaborate an strategy of curricular adjustment with an interdisciplinary approach in the Medicine Career. The main objective was the vertical integration of pharmacology with the current subjects in the year. The sample was composed by 60 teachers of the subject and 8 board members, it went through the 13 municipalities of the province. Interviews were made to students, teachers, and board members of the faculty and universities sites. A documental analysis of the curricular project and the educative process was made, based on the results found an strategy with an interdisciplinary approach was design,  it was focused on some dimensions such as the curriculum, the personal components of the process and the methodological work as an option to facilitate the integration of disciplines. La investigación se desarrolló en la Universidad de Ciencias Médicas de Villa Clara en el curso 2007-2008, tuvo como objetivo: elaborar una estrategia de ajuste curricular con enfoque de interdisciplinariedad en la carrera de Medicina. Estuvo centrada en los nexos de integración de la farmacología con asignaturas coincidentes en el año y en el sentido vertical de la carrera. La muestra estuvo conformada por 60 docentes de la asignatura, y ocho cuadros de dirección, y abarcó los 13 municipios de la provincia. Se aplicaron entrevistas a estudiantes, docentes y cuadros de dirección de las facultades o sedes, también se efectuó análisis documental del proyecto curricular y del proceso docente educativo. A partir de los resultados detectados se diseñó una estrategia con enfoque interdisciplinario centrada en las dimensiones del currículo, los componentes personales del proceso, y la labor metodológica, como opción que  facilita la integración disciplinar. Universities should generate knowledge, as well as transfer, preserve and spread it by using scientific cooperation webs, they should potentiate the use of dynamic portals focus on the user, the aim of this work is to describe the distinctive aspects of the medical education blog in Villa Clara in a dynamic space of the web 2.0. Different methods were used, for instance bibliographic review and interviews to specialists. Important organizations are present in this work among them the society of educators, the master´s degree course in medical education and the professorship of pedagogy the structure of the product is described, as well as its main sections and illustrations the blog has permitted the collaboration of the teaching staff with the educators in other parts of the country. Las universidades deben generar conocimientos, transferirlos, conservarlos, y difundirlos, mediante redes de cooperación científica de intercambio con su entorno, así como potenciar el uso de portales dinámicos enfocados hacia el usuario final. El trabajo tiene como finalidad: describir los aspectos distintivos del blog de la educación médica en Villa Clara en un espacio dinámico de la Web 2.0. Se utilizaron métodos de revisión documental y se exploró el criterio de informantes clave mediante entrevistas. Se constata la presencia de instancias que potencian este quehacer: la sociedad de educadores, la estrategia pedagógica asumida, el programa de maestría en educación médica, y la cátedra de Pedagogía. Se describe la estructura del producto, sus secciones principales, y se incorporan imágenes que recrean este acontecer. El blog ha permitido la colaboración y apertura del claustro docente con el resto de los educadores del país. Este trabajo tiene como finalidad: analizar las potencialidades educativas que ofrece el currículo de la especialidad de cardiología, para propiciar la formación de valores durante una actividad de la educación en el trabajo del Programa de la Especialidad de Cardiología en la Universidad de Ciencias Médicas de Villa Clara. Se ejemplifica con una clase práctica que intenciona la formación de los valores: responsabilidad, justicia y la sensibilidad del profesional ante el dolor ocasionado por la pérdida de la salud. Fue organizada en tres momentos según la lógica de la actuación profesional en las condiciones de una clase de práctica quirúrgicadonde se realiza la implantación del marcapaso, y se argumenta el cómo facilitar la formación de los valores formulados en el currículo de la especialidad de Cardiología. This research work was carried out in the Medicine Faculty of the University of Medical Sciences in Villa Clara, with the objective: to elaborate a psychopedagogical strategy which makes possible the integral attention to students who are facing school problems, including those who leave school. Empirical and theorical methods where applied to find out the difficulties these students faced. The work done allowed the elaboration of a proposal with different actions to work with the great massiveness and diversity of students who are registered at present. An strategy was designed to erradicate the limitations in the work of the student counsiling department so as to elevate the quality of the formational process in the future professionals of the medical sciences. La investigación se desarrolló en la Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad en Ciencias Médicas de Villa Clara con el objetivo de: elaborar una estrategia psicopedagógica para la atención integral a los estudiantes con dificultades y de aquellos que causaron bajas. Se aplicaron métodos empíricos y teóricos para constar las dificultades existentes en la labor desplegada, las cuales permitieron la elaboración de una propuesta de acciones para trabajar ante la masividad y diversidad de la matrícula actual. Se conformó una estrategia donde se pueden subsanar las limitaciones en el accionar de la unidad de orientación estudiantil en las condiciones de la universalización, que también incluye un material de orientación psicopedagógica para elevar la calidad del proceso formativo en los futuros profesionales de las Ciencias Médicas. The teaching at the municipal universities has been assumed by a group of specialities that have not been previously prepared as teachers, however, it is indispensable for  them to have a correct pedagogic preparation which is necessary to  reach a performance that allows the formation of the future health professionals with the required quality. A qualitative descriptive study was carried out to characterize the teaching performance level of the teachers that work at the municipal University Site in Placetas in the period between 2005-2007. A non probabilistic, intentional and by saturation sample was used. It was shown that the teaching performance of the teachers is inadequate and it was designed a methodology to facilitate the personologic characterization of the performance of the health professors which was valorated as positive by specialists who consider it as necessary, inclusively a  very useful one. En las Sedes Universitarias Municipales la docencia ha sido asumida por un grupo de profesionales que no han tenido formación previa como docentes, sin embargo resulta indispensable que ellos posean una correcta preparación pedagógica necesaria para alcanzar un desempeño que permita la formación de futuros profesionales de la salud con la calidad requerida. Se realizó un estudio cualitativo descriptivo para caracterizar el nivel de desempeño pedagógico de los profesores que laboran en la sede universitaria municipal de Placetas, en el período 2005-2007. Se trabajó con un muestreo no probabilístico, intencional y por saturación. Se mostró que el nivel de desempeño pedagógico de los docentes es inadecuado y se diseñó una metodología que facilita la caracterización personológica del desempeño pedagógico, de los profesores de salud que fue valorada como positiva por especialistas quienes la consideran necesaria, abarcadora y muy útil. Nosocomial infections are an extremely important health problem all over the world that affect the quality and efficiency of the medical services. A qualitative descriptive study was carried out to characterized the medical and paramedical staff knowledge at the Placetas General Teaching hospital on these infections during the period between 2005-2007. It was used a non probabilistic, intentional and by saturation sample which is characteristic of this kind of study. As a distintictive aspect there was found that the level of knowledge on these infections was inadequate and it is proved an association between the level of knowledge detected and the existing difficulties on the nosocomial infections register at the institution. It is being elaborated a course according to the deficiencies detected which was valorated by the specialists as necessary and updated. Las infecciones nosocomiales constituyen un problema de salud de extraordinaria importancia en el mundo, que afectan la calidad y la eficiencia de los servicios médicos. Se realizó un estudio cualitativo descriptivo para caracterizar el nivel de conocimientos del personal médico y paramédico del Hospital General Docente de Placetas con respecto a estas infecciones durante el período 2005-2007. Se trabajó con un muestreo no probabilístico, intencional y por saturación característico de este tipo de estudio. Como aspecto distintivo se encontró que el nivel de conocimientos sobre dichas infecciones resultó inadecuado, y se comprueba una asociación entre el nivel de conocimientos detectado y las dificultades existentes en el subregistro de infecciones nosocomiales de la institución. Se elabora un curso en correspondencia con las deficiencias detectadas que fue valorado por los especialistas como necesario y actualizado. Propuesta metodológica enseñanza método clínico. The clinical method is an effective way to know the health problem that may affect a person, nevertheless, in many occasions during the medical practice some of its stages are not accomplished affecting its teaching. That’s why a methodological proposal was elaborated to teach the clinical method taking into account the difficulties found in the different teaching centers. In this research work were combined methods from the qualitative and the quantitative paradigms and it was organized in three stages: diagnosis, elaboration of the product and validation by experts. According to the difficulties found, the proposal of the nominal group, the criterium of experts, the search in documents, and the considerations of the author allowed to design the final product, wich containts indications about the methodological work, teaching activities and methodological orientations to teach them the experts considered the product: pertinent, novel and useful. El método clínico resulta la vía de acceder al estudio de los problemas de salud que afectan al individuo, no obstante, durante la práctica médica se violentan sus etapas y ello repercute negativamente en su enseñanza, por lo que se elabora una propuesta metodológica para la enseñanza del método clínico a partir de las dificultades detectadas en los escenarios docentes de este contexto.Se aplicaron métodos cuantitativos y cualitativos para su análisis y fue organizada en tres etapas: diagnóstica, elaboración del producto y valoración del mismo. A partir de las dificultades detectadas, la propuesta del grupo nominal, el criterio de los peritos, la revisión bibliográfica sobre la temática y las consideraciones de la autora, permitieron diseñar el producto final, el cual ofrece indicaciones para el trabajo metodológico, propone tareas docentes y orientaciones metodológicas para su enseñanza. Objetive: To explain the integrated approach of the Educative Strategy used at the University of Medical Sciences from Villa Clara for the formation of values in the future healthe professionals as well as the results obtained. Development: the formation of values is an imperative in the hard and complex national and international context that we are living at present that demands new methods and pedagogic alternatives the Educative Strategy has been used on the base of some educative quality indicators that allow a priority in its implementation on different levels, on a systematic process of orientation, planning, fulfillment, monitoring, control and evaluation of the formative process in the health services of the province and in all the scenarios where the future professionals are formed, with the concious participation of directors, students, professors, workers and specially youngsters organizations. Conclusions: In the formation of the health professionals the consolidation of values, the educative work with an integral approach of the educative quality, constitute the essence of the present Cuban society to fulfill the Mission of the Medical University. Objetivo: Explicar el enfoque integral de la estrategia educativa aplicada en la Universidad de Ciencias Médicas de Villa Clara para la formación de valores en los futuros profesionales de la salud así como los resultados obtenidos. Desarrollo: La formación de valores es un imperativo en el difícil y complejo contexto nacional e internacional en que vivimos, que impone nuevos métodos y alternativas pedagógicas. La estrategia educativa ha sido aplicada sobre la base de determinados indicadores de calidad educativa que permiten una prioridad en su implementación en los diferentes niveles, en un proceso sistemático de orientación, planificación, ejecución, monitoreo, control y evaluación del proceso formativo en los servicios de salud de la provincia y en todos los escenarios donde se forman los futuros profesionales, con la participación consciente de directivos, estudiantes, profesores, trabajadores, y especial protagonismo de las organizaciones juveniles. Conclusiones: En la formación de profesionales de la salud, la consolidación de valores y el trabajo educativo con un enfoque integral en aras de la calidad educativa, constituyen la esencia en la sociedad cubana actual para dar cumplimiento a la Misión de la Universidad Médica. System of actions for the pedagogical eyegrading of professor in the university policlinic project Sistema de acciones para la superación pedagógica de los profesores del proyecto policlínico universitario Pérez Pérez, Eleana Chagoyén Méndez, Esther Maria Rodríguez Silva, Caridad de los Ángeles Teachers teaching methods. A qualitative study was carried out with the teachers of the South University polyclinic in Placetas municipality from november 2006 to january 2007 in order to propose a system of actions for the pedagogical upgrading of tutors and facilitators and intentional nonprobabilistic sample was applied. The sample was composed by five facilitators and three tutors due to saturation of the information given, bisides three key informants were used. Questionaires and interviewws were applied and search in documents was carried out the work done allowed to determine the necessities of pedagogical upgrading, it was also found the necessity to learn how to develop abilities to work with the independent work, the formation of values, and the attention to the students´ individual differences. It was also verified that teachers were not included in the pedagogical strtegy of that Center and the potentialities of the metodological work are not used. It is proposed a system of pedagogical actions, it is composed by upgrading actions, scientific methodological action and assessment actions so as to transform the pedagogical practice. The specialist considered it pertinent and updated. Se realizó un estudio cualitativo con los profesores del “Proyecto Policlínico Universitario” Sur del municipio de Placetas desde noviembre del 2006 a enero de 2007 para proponer un sistema de acciones de superación pedagógica a los tutores y facilitadores. Se aplicó un muestreo no probabilístico de forma intencional y quedó conformada por cinco facilitadores y tres tutores al obtener saturación en la información aportada, además se seleccionaron tres informantes claves. Se aplicaron cuestionarios, entrevistas a profundidad y se efectuó revisión documental lo que permitió determinar las necesidades de superación pedagógica existentes. Se constató la necesidad de aprender cómo desarrollar habilidades para el trabajo independiente, la formación de valores, así como la atención a las diferencias individuales de los estudiantes; también se verificó que no se incluían a los profesores en la estrategia pedagógica del centro y no se utilizan las potencialidades del trabajo metodológico. Se propone un sistema de acciones pedagógicas conformado por acciones de superación, científico-metodológicas y de evaluación, para intervenir y transformar la práctica educativa. Los especialistas consultados la consideraron abarcadora, pertinente y actualizada. The postgraduate improvement of philosophy teachers at the Medical Sciences University in Villa Clara, in the use of scientific information as well as communication and information technologies was the object of this investigation. The main needs of these teachers in the efficient use of electronic scientific information were identified and then a three-level improvement action system was prepared which included: basic, middle and high levels. Its theoretical-methodological support is the acquisition of the main informational competences that a current professional requires. The improvement actions were made through a group of general, organizational and didactic actions that take up three forms of postgraduate improvement (workshop, scientific sessions, and training) which are integrated as part of the teaching-methodological strategy of the Philosophy Department of this University, and aims at positively changing the current situation. La superación posgraduada de los profesores de Filosofía de la Universidad de Ciencias Médicas de Villa Clara, en el uso de la información científica y las tecnologías de la información y la comunicación para un mejor desempeño profesional, constituyó el objetivo de esta investigación. Se identificaron las principales carencias de estos docentes en el uso eficaz de la información científica en soporte digital y se elabora un sistema de acciones de superación con tres niveles de preparación: básico, medio y superior; y cuyo sustento teórico-metodológico es la adquisición de las principales competencias informacionales requeridas para un profesional en la actualidad. It was carried out a research about the level of preparation of the presidents of scientific societies in Villa Clara health sciences, considered them as potential leaders who guide the community members toward a better teaching, research and welfare performance. There were used quantitative and qualitative methods and it was investigated the opinion of the people involved in this process (directors, members and the own presidents). Beginning with the identification of the main difficulties found in their preparation, it was elaborated a strategy directed to the improvement in the use of the scientific information and TICs, as real multipliers of the information literacy in their scenes. This strategy was structured with actions that facilitate the preparation of the presidents of the scientific communities in this field. Se efectuó una investigación que indaga el nivel de preparación de los presidentes de las sociedades científicas en las ciencias de la salud en Villa Clara, como líderes con potencialidades de arrastre que conducen a los miembros de sus comunidades hacia un mejor desempeño docente, investigativo y asistencial. Se emplearon métodos cuantitativos y cualitativos y se investigó el criterio de los involucrados en este proceso (directivos, miembros y los propios presidentes). The informational literacy is the people´s capacity to have access, assess and use the information in an effective and ethical form. The objective of the current study is: To propose an strategy of Informational literacy for information workers of Villa Clara health system; in correspondence with the aptitudes of the Sconul Model, it comprises three levels of preparation: elemental, intermediate and advanced. The methodology used in this research work followed a qualitative approach, methods and techniques from the empirical and theoretical levels were applied, they made possible the compilation of data to elaborate a proper diagnose and to make decisions that conduct the upgrading process. The proposal is composed by a series of general, organizable and didactic actions and by the design of a course and a workshop, which were integrated to an institutional research project to transform the current situation of health information workers. La Alfabetización Internacional (ALFIN) es la capacidad de las personas para acceder, evaluar y usar la información de forma efectiva y ética. El estudio propone una estrategia de ALFIN para los trabajadores de la información del sistema de salud de Villa Clara; en correspondencia con las aptitudes del Modelo de Sconul, que contempla tres niveles de preparación: básico, intermedio y avanzado. La metodología utilizada en la investigación tuvo un enfoque esencialmente cualitativo, y se aplicaron métodos y técnicas del nivel empírico y teórico, lo cual posibilitó la recopilación necesaria de datos a fin de disponer del diagnóstico y tomar las decisiones para conducir el proceso de superación. The researching abilities in the Medicine curriculum. A necessary diagnostic valuation Las habilidades investigativas en el currículo de Medicina. A qualitative study was carried out in order to characterize the formation of research abilities of the General Doctor at the Medicine Faculty of the Medical Sciences University in Villa Clara.  The analysis units taken into consideration were: plan of studies, subjects and disciplines programs, criteria of professors and students about research abilities. A documentary analysis of macro and microcurriculum was performed as well as surveys applied to directives, experienced professors, students and FEU leaders, in a saturation sampling. In order to obtain information from different perspectives a methodological triangulation was carried out. There was an existing contradiction between what was declared in the macrocurriculum for this function and how the microcurriculum conceives it. The deficient abilities in the research-scientific formation were: incorrect formulation of the scientific problem, objectives and hypotheses, and in a lesser degree those related to the scientific communication of the results. Se realizó un estudio cualitativo en la Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad de Ciencias Médicas de Villa Clara durante el curso académico 2008-2009 para caracterizar la formación de habilidades investigativas del Médico General Básico (MGB). Las unidades de análisis consideradas fueron el plan de estudios, programas de disciplinas y asignaturas, criterios de profesores y estudiantes sobre las habilidades investigativas. Se realizó análisis documental del macro y microcurrículo, fueron encuestados directivos, profesores de experiencia, estudiantes y dirigentes de la FEU, en un muestreo por saturación. Se efectuó triangulación metodológica para obtener información desde varias perspectivas. Se precisó como dificultad la contradicción existente entre lo declarado en el macrocurrículo para esta función y cómo la concibe el microcurrículo. Las habilidades deficientes en la formación científico-investigativa fueron: la formulación incorrecta del problema científico, objetivos e hipótesis, y en menor grado las asociadas  a la comunicación científica de los resultados. The subject should assure the development of certain knowledge, abilities and values that gradually let the different modes of acting that are expected in the curriculum appear. That´s why it´s teaching should reflect the latest findings of science and the logics of the profession, so as to achieve the integration and pertinence of contents. The purpose of this work is to elaborate methodological guidelines which consider the aspects already mentioned and a system approach in the Medicine career. A documentary analysis of the design of the Medicine career and of educational researches in this faculty was carried out, it also included the study of the bibliography about this topic. Methodological guidelines are given to facilitate the correspondence between the subject and professional practice, a current educational tendency, and the inner coherence of the curricular structure with the aim to get a curricular dynamic which favors the system approach of the career. La asignatura resulta la encargada de asegurar el desarrollo de determinados conocimientos, habilidades y valores que escalonadamente conforman los modos de actuación profesional pretendidos en el currículo, por ello su enseñanza debe reflejar los adelantos de su ciencia y seguir la lógica de la profesión, así como lograr una integración y pertinencia de sus contenidos. El trabajo tiene como finalidad elaborar orientaciones para una labor metodológica que considere estos aspectos y el enfoque de sistema en la carrera de Medicina. Para ello se realizó un análisis documental del currículo y de  investigaciones educacionales efectuadas en esta facultad, así como el estudio de  bibliografía del tema. Education is a continuos process, It is necessary to develop the profession to educate so as to form man. Man´s health depends on preventive, promotional and recuperative cares, that´s why Nursing appears. Nursing as a science is based on an ethical and social practice. The XXI century, characterized by globalization, the culture of quality and the rapid obsolescence of knowledge. It represents a challenge for Nursing from the practical and teaching point of view through its development in order to produce the techno-scientific changes. This article deals with aspects related to the pedagogical preparation in the context of the new medical university, they should be considered as an alternative proposal for professional upgrading. The principal theoretical aspects about upgrading are systematized as a way to facilitate professional improvement, based on the principal precepts of advanced education and the current pedagogical tendencies leading to an integral, interdisciplinary and developing teaching. La educación es un proceso continuo, es necesario desarrollar la profesión de educar para formar al hombre. Su salud está sujeta a cuidados preventivos, promocionales y recuperativos y por eso surge la Enfermería. Como ciencia está basada en una práctica social y ética. Within the course of time it has been produced a steady development in the Information and communication technologies, which has been greatly used in education so as to improve the quality of the teaching-learning process, the universities are not apart from those changes, the use of collaborative platforms in learning have paved the way for the appearance of virtual learning sites , dynamic spaces for the interaction between the professors  and the students and also among the students, all this has favored the development of a new modality of education “distance courses assisted by computers”, it is defined as “online learning”. This article deals with aspects related to the implementation of virtual learning sites in the cuban medical universities and the preparation of professors in Villa Clara University of Medical Sciences to interact with these virtual learning sites. Con el decursar de los años se ha producido un desarrollo impetuoso de las Tecnologías de la Información y la Comunicación, estas se han puesto a favor de la educación para incrementar la calidad del proceso enseñanza aprendizaje. Aprendizaje basado en tareas enseñanza comunicativa lenguas extranjeras. The objective of the article is to present two methodologies for the use of the task based learning approach in communicative foreign language teaching, as well as to offer the advantages of this approach vs the traditional Presentation-Practice and Production methodology. The article was written after a deep bibliographic review and after it was put into practice in the authors’ teaching learning processes. With the use of this approach, the students begin the communicative task using the language they have learned in previous lessons or in other sources of information. Then, they speak or write about the way they did the task and compare their findings. At a certain point they can listen to recordings of other doing the same or a similar task or they can read something related to the topic or relate this with their experience in doing the task. After the task is done and reported, then, attention is guided towards specific aspects of language form. Aspects that occur naturally in the recordings they have listed to or in the texts they have read. El objetivo del artículo es presentar las experiencias de los autores a partir de la aplicación de dos metodologías, sugeridas por Jane Willis y David Nunan, para propiciar el aprendizaje basado en tareas en la enseñanza comunicativa y ofrecer sus ventajas sobre la metodología de las tres P, (presentación, práctica y producción). El artículo se sustenta en una revisión bibliográfica y la implementación de estas ideas en la práctica pedagógica de sus autores, lo cual favoreció que los estudiantes realizaran sus tareas comunicativas usando el idioma de clases anteriores u otras fuentes de información, que hablaran o escribieran sobre cómo la hicieron, además de escuchar grabaciones o leer textos relacionados con el tema para compararlos con sus experiencias de realización. En la comprobación, se dirige su atención hacia aspectos específicos de la forma del lenguaje que ocurren naturalmente en las grabaciones que han escuchado o los textos que han leído. The teaching of the English language plays an important role in the integral formation of the new man that it is desired to form in the country, taking into account the Higher Education universalization process that involves Villa Clara University of Medical Sciences where many students enter coming from different formation models. These students are characterized by a great diversity in respect to origin, age and formation levels, these make complex the teaching-learning process with them. There are handicaps which exert a negative influence upon the learning process of these students, among them it can be mentioned the physiological, psychological and socio-cultural ones. There are also limitations about the methodological preparation of teachers in respect to their work with diversity, their mastery of the communicative methodology techniques and the appropriate usage of the student´s diagnose. These work is the result of the research carried out by the author in the theses in option to the Master of Arts degree, in the work are proposed a series of methodological-didactic actions to pay attention to the methodological preparation of teachers taking into account the particularities of diversity and the mastery of the communicative methodology techniques  La enseñanza del inglés es importante en la proyección multifacética del hombre nuevo de la sociedad cubana. In this work it is stated the necessity to redesign the syllabus of the English discipline in order to encrease the quality of oral expression lessons by including cultural aspects of the countries where the students come from. The proposal was applied to a class of third year in the Medicine career in the Pinar del Río University of Medical Sciences, it was used the interrelation of the dialectical unit language-culture. It was taken into account the students´ knowledge about the culture of their countries and the text book. The methods used were: descriptive-explanatory and percent analysis. It was also applied a questionnaire with different variables, the students´answers showed the effectiveness of the proposal where they expressed a greater motivation towards learning and oral expression abilities. El presente trabajo se sustenta en la necesidad de rediseñar el programa de la disciplina Inglés para perfeccionar la calidad de las clases de expresión oral, a partir de la inclusión de aspectos culturales de los países de procedencia del estudiantado. La propuesta se aplicó a un grupo de alumnos de 3er año de Medicina en la Universidad de Ciencias Médicas de Pinar del Río, y la vía utilizada fue la vinculación de la unidad dialéctica idioma-cultura. En su concepción se tuvo en cuenta el conocimiento de los educandos sobre la cultura de sus países y el libro de texto; los métodos utilizados fueron el explicativo-descriptivo y de análisis porcentual y se aplicó un cuestionario midiendo diferentes variables. En sus respuestas, los alumnos demostraron la efectividad de su aplicación al expresar mayor motivación por el aprendizaje y habilidades de expresión oral. The proposal of textbook presented is a didactic and strategic way to stimulate the development of communicative competence in Biomedical Sciences in English that takes into account the student´s needs in their specific variant. It is the result of the professional experience of the author as well as the compiling of scientific information for more than thirty years of pedagogical work. The design given can be adapted according to the student´s interests and learning needs, to their levels and teaching aids at the disposal of the development of the teaching learning process in each University and also according to the experiences of teachers. With this contribution, teachers and students face a real need and through it they can find more interest and satisfaction in the teaching learning process in English. Education and its improvement represent a main step to guarantee the continuity of the Revolution and the participation of all citizens in the different tasks oriented to preserve our achievements. This can only be obtained by means of a collective effort to elevate the integral general culture of future professionals. The mastery of a foreign language so widely spread as English represents a professional and cultural need for students of Cuban Medical Universities because of the warm support they are supposed to give in different countries where this language is used for communication after they graduate. Nevertheless, even when this need is widely recognized, reality shows a lot of dissatisfactions with the results obtained throughout the teaching-learning process of English that is developed in the Medical Universities. This situation can get worse in the present context where actions are devoted to open the university to different municipal sites; therefore, a rapid and efficient work is needed on the part of the pedagogical staff responsible for the social moulding of these professionals. The adaptation and design of materials and the suggestions for teachers of English have represented a great effort that has brought us closer together the general objectives pretended. Nowadays, the different didactic components of the teaching-learning process of English in the general cycle have been revised and some transformations have been done from the practical and theoretical point of view. New ideas have been applied systematically in the University sites of Villa Clara and they can be seen as the bases of a new didactic structure for the teaching-learning of English during the general cycle at these Medical Universities. La educación y su perfeccionamiento representan el eslabón fundamental para garantizar la continuidad de la Revolución y la participación ciudadana en tareas encaminadas a preservar sus conquistas, y esto solo puede lograrse mediante un esfuerzo colectivo encaminado a la elevación de la cultura general integral de los futuros profesionales. El dominio de una lengua extranjera de tan amplia difusión como el inglés representa una necesidad profesional y cultural para los egresados de las universidades médicas cubanas, debido a su actuación solidaria en diferentes países en muchos de los cuales se utiliza esta lengua para la comunicación. No obstante, a pesar del reconocimiento de esta necesidad, la realidad demuestra insatisfacciones en los resultados que se alcanzan a través del proceso enseñanza-aprendizaje del inglés que se desarrolla, lo cual puede agudizarse en el contexto de universalización si no se realiza un trabajo rápido, eficaz y comprometido por parte del colectivo pedagógico que tiene el encargo social de la formación de estos profesionales. La adaptación de materiales y la elaboración de orientaciones para la impartición de las clases han representado un gran esfuerzo y un acercamiento al cumplimiento de los objetivos generales perseguidos. Actualmente se trabaja en la integración de los componentes didácticos del proceso enseñanza-aprendizaje del inglés en el ciclo general, donde se han obtenido aportes de indudable valor teórico y práctico, que ya han venido aplicándose de manera sistemática en los policlínicos universitarios de Villa Clara, y que sientan las bases para el diseño y propuesta de un modelo didáctico para dicho ciclo. The urgency of satisfying the need of medical attention in fellow countries has contributed to search for different solutions to the problem of the professional preparation for the collaboration in public health. The learning of the English language in a short time is a challenge for health personnel. The acceleration of the learning process is an option to prepare the human resources in a short time. Ha sido política del estado cubano desarrollar paulatinamente la educación y la preparación del pueblo, creando una base sólida de recursos humanos, altamente calificada y a tono con los principios de la solidaridad y el internacionalismo. Although to publish in English helps you improve the visibility of magazines, it is not discarded the option of publishing in Spanish, because there are magazines with impact factor directed to the Hispanic scientific community and other multilingual community. In the course of the last ten years, the realization of clinical trials in Cuba has shown a great development and there is an unquestionable high investigative potential to publish in recognized magazines with an international visibility that could be exploited more than it happens at present. The valuation of publications like part of the scientific productivity of the researchers is an important indicator of the work that professionals and scientists carry out, the reason why it was carried out the analysis of publications of Villa Clara province clinical researchers in a five year period 2005-2009,it has been shown the prevalence of articles in Cuban medical magazines with an unequal distribution per years. The valuation of the state of the publications of the clinical researchers in Villa Clara province is carried out considering those elements that can influence in the bigger or smaller visibility of science in the territory. Aunque publicar en inglés ayuda a mejorar la visibilidad y la citabilidad de las revistas, no queda descartada la opción de publicar en español. En los últimos diez años, la realización de ensayos clínicos en Cuba ha mostrado buen desarrollo y existe un elevado potencial investigativo para ser publicado en revistas cubanas e internacionales. La valoración de las publicaciones es un indicador importante de la productividad de los profesionales y científicos; esto motivó la realización del análisis de las publicaciones de los investigadores clínicos de la provincia Villa Clara en el quinquenio 2005-2009. El presente trabajo muestra el predominio de artículos publicados en español por autores villaclareños en revistas médicas cubanas, con respecto a otras de carácter internacional, que utilizan el inglés como idioma para expresarse, y con una distribución desigual por años. Pedagogical alternatives for the interdisciplinary approach between Morphology and Integral General Medicine. A new study plan is being applied in the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Medical Sciences in Villa Clara, which includes disciplines that enclose extended areas of knowledge. Fro that reason, the First year pedagogical staff has decided to perform an investigation with the aim of developing pedagogical alternatives for the interdisciplinary treatment, considering the contents and the organizational teaching forms involved in the respective programs. The analysis of the normative documents of the new study plan confirmed the conception of using the scenario of primary health attention for the consolidation of Morphology and its connection with the professional profile, however, the documental analysis of the subjects demonstrated that it is not favored by the curriculum because it does not establish the linking, neither between the proper subjects of the career, nor between the subjects of the career and the subjects of the general formation. In the present study some alternatives are suggested by the first-year staff, for the coordination of the subjects of Morphology and Integral General Medicine and the design of some teaching activities. The interdisciplinary relations constitute, at present, a demand that implies the re-organization of the professors’ work, presenting them to group and cooperative visions, as a via of achieving a collective compromise work and to a more holistic vision of the students’ formation. En la Facultad de Medicina de Villa Clara se aplica un plan de estudio, que incluye disciplinas que abarcan grandes áreas del conocimiento por lo que se realiza una investigación con el objetivo de elaborar  alternativas pedagógicas para el tratamiento interdisciplinar, considerando los contenidos y formas organizativas de la docencia previstas en los respectivos programas. El análisis documental del currículo permite apreciar el empleo de escenarios de la atención primaria de salud en Morfofisiología y su vinculación con el perfil del profesional; sin embargo durante su ejecución las asignaturas  no  establecen suficientes vínculos entre ellas. Se presentan alternativas para la coordinación entre las asignaturas Morfofisiología y Medicina General Integral, y el diseño de actividades docentes con esta finalidad. Las relaciones interdisciplinarias implican la reorganización del trabajo  del  profesor donde prime la organización  grupal y cooperativa, a fin de obtener una visión más holística de la formación del estudiante. The results of a study performed n the field of the curricular design in the Degree course of Psychology in Medical Sciences are exposed. Theorization is done about the interdisciplinary relations, integrating curricula and integration of contents. It starts from the not covered necessities in the program of Philosophy and Society I and II, to provide the interdisciplinary approach in the learning-teaching process. According to the possibilities offered by the above mentioned program, some curricular adaptations are suggested, based upon the organization of the content about interdisciplinary topics, accompanied by the methodological orientations. The proposal/proposition is assessed as positive by specialists’ criteria, as a result of the updating of the topic, its novelty, its flexible character and the correspondence with the context in which the future professionals are formed. For that reason, it constitutes a valuable contribution in the consideration of interdisciplinary approach from the design of the program. Se exponen los resultados de una investigación realizada en el campo del diseño curricular de la Licenciatura en Psicología en Ciencias Médicas. Se teoriza en torno a las relaciones interdisciplinarias, currículos integradores e integración de contenidos. Parte de las necesidades no cubiertas en el programa de Filosofía y Sociedad I y II para propiciar el enfoque interdisciplinario en la enseñanza-aprendizaje. De acuerdo con las posibilidades que ofrece el mencionado programa, se proponen adecuaciones curriculares, basadas en la organización del contenido en temáticas interdisciplinarias, y se acompaña de las orientaciones metodológicas. La propuesta se valora como positiva por criterio de especialistas, dada la actualidad de la temática, su novedad, su carácter flexible y correspondencia con el contexto en que se forman los futuros profesionales, por lo que constituye un valioso aporte en la consideración del enfoque interdisciplinario desde el diseño de los programas. A transversal descriptive research work was carried out with the objective to design a methodological proposal for the integration and systematization of topics in Defense preparation in the basic syllabus of the Nursing career. The universe was composed by the Nursing career professors. Empirical and theoretical methods were used. Based on the conclusions, a methodological proposal for the integration of contents was elaborated. The selected contents were closely related to disasters and nursing procedures in extreme situations. The specialists value the proposal as adequate. It was proposed the implementation of the proposal for the next academic year. Se realizó una investigación de tipo descriptivo transversal con el objetivo de diseñar una propuesta metodológica de integración y sistematización de temas de Preparación para la Defensa en los programas básicos de la carrera de Enfermería. El universo de estudio estuvo constituido por los profesores de Enfermería. Para la recogida de la información se emplearon métodos teóricos y empíricos. A partir de las conclusiones se elaboró una  propuesta metodológica de integración de contenidos a través de la aplicación de los métodos problémicos. Los contenidos seleccionados estuvieron relacionados con situaciones de desastres y las intervenciones de Enfermería ante situaciones extremas. Los especialistas valoraron la propuesta como muy adecuada. Se recomendó su puesta en marcha para el próximo curso escolar. As a result a website was elaborated using the software Macromedia Flash version 7 and the work was valued by experts and students. There were identified as theoretical cores: the dentist office, the dentist appliances and the dental materials. The judgment of the experts, obtained by means of a focal group, coincides in that the website is favorably related with the didactics and relevancy of the objectives of the subject program that is why the material was very useful for the independent study. Se realizó una investigación educativa, entre los meses de enero del 2008 a julio del 2009 en la Universidad de Ciencias Médicas de Villa Clara, con el objetivo de identificar los núcleos cognitivos de la asignatura Estomatología Integral II, para conformar un material de apoyo a la docencia que supla las carencias bibliográficas de los estudiantes y emplee modernas tecnologías de la información  digitalizada, el cual fue sometido a la valoración de los expertos. Se utilizó la revisión documental, se obtuvo la opinión de los miembros de un grupo nominal y se emplearon métodos teóricos. Como resultado se elaboró un sitio web usando el software Macromedia Flash versión 7 y se valoró su aceptación por expertos y estudiantes. Fueron identificados como núcleos teóricos: el consultorio dental, instrumental y los materiales dentales. El juicio de los expertos, obtenido mediante un grupo focal, coincide en que el sitio creado se relaciona favorablemente con la didáctica y pertinencia de los objetivos del programa de la asignatura, por lo que el material resultó ser de utilidad para el estudio independiente.
