Abstract

A synchronic and descriptive study was carried out about the linguistic insufficiencies which are present in the written scientific production of teachers in Villa Clara Health Technology Faculty, from 2005 to 2010, there were characterized the linguistic phenomena which worsen the quality of written texts. A diagnose was carried out in different teaching scenarios, as well as a documentary revision, where the use of the mother tongue was observed. The sample was composed by 20 researching projects of the medical area. Empirical and theoretical methods were used. Most errors were found in the morpho-syntactic level and spelling, mainly in the use of the diacritic tilde and the punctuation marks. These aspects represent a lack of knowledge and abilities in the use of the mother tongue, that´s why it is nacessary to carry out different actions to solve these problems.
