Teaching Basic General English using Jose Marti´s texts which were translated into english

Abstract

The improvement of the teaching-learning process and the formation of values in the students is a very important task, that’s why a bibliographic revision was carried out to update the information to assume new methodologies which guarantee the preparation of medicine students. The teaching of basic general English gives the possibility to educate the students under Marti’s ethic through reading comprehension activities using Marti’s texts which have been translated into English, where motivation creates in the students a state of emotional wellbeing which benefits them spiritually and allows changing ways of acting. The concepts and recommendations are the results of the search in the bibliographic sources. The putting into practice of this experience was very interesting for the students where they declared it in spaces of academic debate.
