The doctor-patient relationship in the development of ethical-professional values in the medicine students

Abstract

So as to characterize the influence of the doctor-patient relationship in the GPs offices in the development of ethical-professional values in the students who received Integral General Medicine IV Subject, in the 2nd year of Medicine in Villa Clara Faculty, academic year (2010-2011). A research work was carried out with a universe of 57 students from groups 3and 4 and the six teachers who taught the subject. Different methods were applied such as bibliographic and documentary review; empirical methods for instance surveys were applied to students, teachers and Student’s Federation Leaders. It was characterized the doctor-patient relationship through the education at work in this subject, Al the students considered their professors as true examples in the formation of ethical-professional values and most of the professors recognized the influence of this relationship for the students´ formation.
