Abstract

The article studies the correct use of the third person singular in Simple Present Tense in English language among Cuban pre-university students pursuing careers in medical sciences and those studying medicine at the A2 level of English. Its use in oral communication is key to accurately describing routines and activities in professional contexts. Common difficulties such as the omission of verb suffixes were identified, that is why a system of teaching activities is proposed for addressing the pronunciation of the third person singular in Simple Present Tense in English at the A2 level using qualitative and quantitative methods. The study concludes that adequate oral proficiency in English is important for medical science students who need to develop appropriate pronunciation in line with their professional competence.
