Abstract

The One Health strategy is based on the principle of interconnectedness between human, animal, and environmental health, which is crucial for addressing contemporary complex health challenges. Medicinal plants generate a vital relationship influencing all three components: their cultivation and harvesting impact the environment, they can be used in animal health, and they form the basis of Natural and Traditional Medicine for human health. A workshop was held with community actors from Popular Council number 3 in the municipality of Manicaragua, Villa Clara, to familiarize them with the One Health approach, the National Program of Natural and Traditional Medicine, and the correct use of medicinal plants. The objective of this communication is: to share with the scientific community the methodology, development, and results of the workshop, which includes the discussions generated and the projections arising from the joint work.
