Abstract

Adequate understanding of epistemic adverbs in English and their correct usage is crucial for future health professionals to interpret international medical literature and, in turn, produce texts well-received by the scientific community. This article shares the development of an exercise workbook with a bank of adverbs extracted from the ParaCorp2020 parallel corpus, designed to improve pragmatic competence in this area. The material, validated by experts, is presented as a novel and suitable resource for the training of health science students by addressing a gap in precise and effective scientific communication.
