Abstract

Background: cooperative learning is a pedagogical tool that allows collaborative interaction and positive interdependence among peers, focused on achieving common learning objectives.
Objective: to determine the problems of teachers of Health Technology careers to guide cooperative learning in virtual environments, through the parameterization of its variable and dimensions.
Methods: a descriptive-cross-sectional study was carried out at the Faculty of Nursing-Health Technology of Santiago de Cuba, during the year 2023. The variable “cooperative learning orientation in virtual environments” was parameterized, divided into four dimensions and 14 indicators. Theoretical and empirical methods were used: documentary analysis, survey and scientific observation. Using the SPSS V.22 statistician, the dimensions and indicators were assessed by calculating measures of central tendency (mean, median) and dispersion (standard deviation, minimum-maximum value).
Results: the parameterization allowed us to confirm that the variable studied presented difficulties since all its dimensions presented a high level of affectation; especially virtualization and technological use were highly affected at 95.2% and 100%, respectively.
Conclusions: the problems of Health Technology teachers were determined to guide cooperative learning in virtual environments; The problems and potentialities that would justify using a system of procedures for the professional improvement of teachers in the aforementioned careers were identified.
