Abstract

Background: today's world is constantly changing and demands increasing job competences and the search for better talent and people with greater skills and better training. Therefore, it is necessary to study the various factors that influence the development and maintenance of institutions, in this case related to the field of occupational health.
Objective: to determine the relationship between engagement and job performance among healthcare professionals at a clinic in Lima, Peru, during 2023.
Methods: an observational, correlational, cross-sectional study was carried out with a non-experimental research design, descriptive research with a quantitative approach at the Tezza Clinic in Lima, Peru, during 2023. Theoretical methods were used: analysis-synthesis, induction-deduction, hypothetical-deductive, and historical-logical; empirical methods: two questionnaires were used: the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES) and the modified Individual Work Performance Questionnaire, which, after being administered, were subjected to statistical analysis.
Results: a positive linear relationship with a significant intensity (Pearson's r 0.4725) was confirmed between both variables, with a 21.12% dependence of performance on work engagement.
Conclusions: a significant relationship was found between engagement and work performance among healthcare professionals at the Tezza Clinic in Lima, Peru, with positive impacts on both the collective and personal levels.
