Abstract

This research work was carried out in Sagua la Grande “Mártires del 9 de Abril” Hospital, (from January2007 to July 2009) to propose modifications to the contents of the 5th year Dermatology Syllabus in the traditional model of the Medicine career. Qualitative and quantitative methods and procedures were combined. The universe was composed by all the students of the 5th and 6th year of the Medicine career and a sample of residents and specialists in Integral General Medicine; and all the Dermatology professors who teach that syllabus. The results show that the first four groups consider as insufficient their acquisition of knowledge and abilities in Dermatology and the teachers think that the dimensions of contents are not fully grasped by the students. A proposal was designed and it was valued as satisfactory by more than 90% of the specialists.
