Abstract

The Villa Clara University of Medical Sciences has been running a postgraduate course in general Pedagogy since the academic year 2003-2004, according to the pedagogical upgrading necessities of teachers. The purpose of this work is to value the pedagogical preparation experiences of the teaching staff after they had received the upgrading course in General Pedagogy. Empirical and theoretical methods are used following the dialectical-materialistic approach. After we had run the upgrading course in General Pedagogy the main experience was the evident change in the pedagogical practice of teachers. This was determined by the didactical-methodological preparation they received in the course, which contributed to elevate the quality of the pedagogical process.
