Virtual university: Challenges and realities

Within the course of time it has been produced a steady development in the Information and communication technologies, which has been greatly used in education so as to improve the quality of the teaching-learning process, the universities are not apart from those changes, the use of collaborative platforms in learning have paved the way for the appearance of virtual learning sites , dynamic spaces for the interaction between the professors and the students and also among the students, all this has favored the development of a new modality of education “distance courses assisted by computers”, it is defined as “online learning”. This article deals with aspects related to the implementation of virtual learning sites in the cuban medical universities and the preparation of professors in Villa Clara University of Medical Sciences to interact with these virtual learning sites.Downloads
