Abstract

In this work it is stated the necessity to redesign the syllabus of the English discipline in order to encrease the quality of oral expression lessons by including cultural aspects of the countries where the students come from. The proposal was applied to a class of third year in the Medicine career in the Pinar del Río University of Medical Sciences, it was used the interrelation of the dialectical unit language-culture. It was taken into account the students´ knowledge about the culture of their countries and the text book. The methods used were: descriptive-explanatory and percent analysis. It was also applied a questionnaire with different variables, the students´answers showed the effectiveness of the proposal where they expressed a greater motivation towards learning and oral expression abilities.
