Strengthen the scientific culture from the subject Cellular and Molecular Biology in Stomatology

Background: the subject Cellular and Molecular Biology is conducive to the development of scientific culture in students.Objective: to develop a system of activities for the development of scientific culture in Stomatology students from the Cellular and Molecular Biology class.
Methods: a development research was carried out at the Faculty of Stomatology of the University of Medical Sciences of Villa Clara in the 2014-2015 period. Theoretical, empirical and mathematical methods were used for the percentage analysis. The materialistic dialectical approach was assumed.
Results: the diagnosis showed demotivation and disinterest in the study of Cellular and Molecular Biology due to the abstract nature of its content, the basic scientific literature only has exercises aimed at assessing the cognitive part, they do not enhance the scientific culture. A system of activities was developed based on a selection of content related to the subject, which was submitted to the assessment of specialists.
Conclusions: the activities have a systemic approach, respond to the regularities provided by the diagnosis and allow students to develop the scientific culture based on the meaning of their learning. The specialists considered them adequate to give a correct answer to the problem investigated due to its scientific level, usefulness, methodological conception, relevance, novelty and possibilities of generalization.
