A teaching experience obtained through health promotion

Abstract

This work exposes the importance of taking into account the activities in the formation of future professionals, tasks related to researching that make possible ways of formation of an adequate discipline and conscience of professionals in the mastery of topics that are present in health programs, In this case sexually transmitted diseases (STD) detected in lab tests. Through this experience it was possible to value that the contents treated were selected using different approaches and in the teaching process were used actual facts. The students were able to debate these aspects deeply, where they saw the sexual culture as a social responsibility. This work allowed the adaptation of the curriculum to the learning needs in the training at work. It also showed the use of the learning activities as the core of the process to develop professional abilities: critical attitudes, mastery of the scientific method and the capacity to solve problems in the biomedical field having ethical and social values.
