Villa Clara Society of Educators in Health Sciences, its origin, achievements and perspectives

The Cuban Society of Educators in Health Sciences was created in 1993 with the aim to contribute to the development of the medical sciences teaching staff. Its first chapter was created in Villa Clara in 1995. The objective of this work is to characterize the activity this scientific group has done since it appeared up to now. A researching process was carried out where empirical and theoretical methods were used, and the information gathered was contrasted (Te results were organized according to the twoperiods of the society (1995–2005) & (2005-2011). This chapter has developed a stable work since its very beginnings and it has played an outstanding role in the pedagogical and scientific development of the teaching staff, among its distinctive features it can be mentioned, the instauration of an acknowledgment system and the issue of the “EDUMECENTRO” Journal.Downloads
