About the Journal

This journal is a scientific and informative resource for Cuban and international health science educators; all medical education teachers and students interested in its topics may publish in it.

Its thematic profile addresses aspects associated with training processes in medical universities, curriculum design and its improvement in the medical sciences, special teaching methodologies in the health sciences, evaluation and accreditation processes in these institutions, information and communication technologies, the universalization of higher education in the health sciences and its challenges, graduate education and its transformations, and university outreach and its potential.

It was founded in 2009 with the aim of presenting the research results of health educators and professionals in the central region, later expanding to the entire country and other regions of the world.

Starting in 2022, the journal will adopt a continuous publication format, with a single volume appearing annually and articles being published at the established timeframe. It is published on the website at the following address: https://revedumecentro.sld.cu

It is open to higher education faculty in general, provided their experiences are applicable to medical education. It is published at the University of Medical Sciences of Villa Clara, Cuba, and has adopted the continuous publication modality since January 2022; that is, its articles are grouped into an annual volume, ensuring immediate publication. NEW ORIENTATION

As part of a necessary analysis of the journal's policy in relation to the new international guidelines for scientific communication, the editorial committee has decided that for all research articles (original, review and position articles) the presentation of the "scientific contribution" section, which will describe, in a few words, what contribution this research makes to science (local or universal).
This section will be placed at the end of the discussion and before the conclusions.
